Lasting Memories helps you to provide a narrative legacy for your family and friends. Your personal story, told in your own words, will be created by a published author with extensive interviewing experience.
Sherry Gottlieb is the author of four published books, including two novels, a collection of short stories, and an oral history honored with a nomination as PEN West USA’s Best Nonfiction Book of 1991.
I record a series of interviews with you in a location of your choosing on the subjects you wish to cover – those might include your childhood memories, schooling, your military experience, your marriage and/or romantic relationships, child-rearing, your career, adventures, triumphs and tragedies, advice, regrets, reflections on life – even secrets revealed at last. These private interviews are conducted in sessions of three hours each.
I transcribe and edit your interviews to ensure a smooth flow of narration, then provide you with a printed draft to review for corrections and changes.
When that is done, I provide you with a final laser-printed copy of your manuscript, along with CDs of your original interviews so you can have a record of your own words in your own voice.
What you do with your story is up to you – put it away until after you’re gone or distribute it to family and friends while you’re still around to enjoy the reaction. If you would like to have professionally bound custom books prepared, I can assist you with the creation of hardcover or softcover volumes in any quantity.
The basic package includes six hours of interviews, a finished manuscript, and CDs of the complete interviews. Longer interviews and/or bound books are available at additional cost.
